Thinking of proposing this Christmas? Sure, you could go for the Love Actually cue cards on a door step, but we reckon you can do a bit better than that!
Christmas is the most popular time of year to pop the question, and you don't have to be a genius to see why that is. Everyone is in high spirits, the festivities are in full swing, and you are surrounded by a magical, not to mention romantic, atmosphere for weeks on end.
We wanted to share some of our favourite Christmas proposal ideas, and perhaps even inspire you to take the plunge this Christmas.
Winter Walk Proposal
We just love a winter walk at Christmas (we certainly all did last year), and it might be something that you and your other half enjoy doing together anyway. Think romantic, secluded woodland walk with no-one around with a hot choc in hand, or go bold and find the biggest and brightest Christmas out there and pop the question in front of lots of twinkly lights.
For some lesser known but nonetheless spectacular Christmas lights try a walk around Kensington gardens and a detour past the
Churchill Arms pub (which is covered in 80 Christmas trees and a whopping 22,000 lights!), the classic
Christmas at Kew Gardens (but head off of the main track for a quieter moment), or even a stroll around the many Hackney Christmas markets, which are home to some of the most amazing lights and show stopping Christmas trees! And make sure to swing by
Mare Street Market after for a cosy roast dinner and wine to celebrate.
The Classic Christmas Cracker
You can't go wrong with this cracker of a proposal idea. Simply buy some beautiful Christmas crackers, open the side carefully or undo the ribbon at the top and pop in the ring. Lay the cracker out on the table ready to pull at dinner - if you win, take the ring and propose, if your partner wins, let them figure out what the gift is and then you can get down on one knee and surprise them!

The Home-Made Proposal
Everyone loves something home made at Christmas, and even if art isn't your strong suit you can still give this a go. What about a hand made advent calendar with the ring waiting in day 25, or you could make a photo album which you could wrap up as a gift, fill it with photos and memories and pop the question on the final page.
Once you've done the hard bit and your partner has said yes, you can start planning your big day. You can find all the inspiration you need on our blog, and of course the ultimate bridesmaids dresses for your best girls. Shop here for our full collection of bridesmaids dresses.
