After a year of cancellations, postponed weddings and the occasional 15-30 guest ceremony, to say we are all looking forward to the next wedding season is an understatement. Whether you are planning a lavish blow-out celebration or an intimate affair, you will want to have your best girls by your side, dressed in their finest of course. So without further ado, here is our roundup of the best bridesmaids trends for 2021 (they will totally work for 2022, too).

1. A riot of colour

There is no disputing that bright, bold colours are the most fun to wear! And we all deserve a bit of riotous colour in our lives, not least of all now. Be a bit daring and mix your favourite colours – your bridesmaids will love it, too.

2. It’s a nice day for a white wedding

The ivory bridesmaids trend has been gaining in popularity and there are plenty of reasons why. Not only does all white make for brilliant photographs but your girls will feel extra special AND it’s an excellent talking point for guests. Our tip when picking ivory bridesmaids dresses: opt for classic, elegant silhouettes with no frills or fuss so that the brides dress shines.

3.Mix it up

Satin is having a real moment, and since launching our rust satin styles we can’t keep them in stock! Try mixing a couple of satin dresses with crepe for a thoroughly modern look, modelled here perfectly by Grace’s best girls. Also look out for an exciting forest green satin launch coming soon…

4. Switch up the seasons

Sure, it’s traditional to wear dark colours in winter and pastels in summer, but at Rewritten we are anything but traditional! Throw the rule book out of the window and switch up the seasons, opting for Inky dark blue or deep forest green at the height of summer. Perfect if you know your colour scheme but can’t set a date yet.

Rewritten started back in 2016 when two friends (Katie and Frances), frustrated by the choice of contemporary bridesmaid dresses out there, decided to create our own. We design for us, for our mates, our sisters and for the modern day bridesmaid. We believe that no bridesmaids dress should be worn only once and that is at the heart of everything we do.
