Lets look after it

Our Fabric

We are not purveyors of fast fashion and fundamentally believe that a bridesmaids dress should be worn more than once rather then relegated to the back of the wardrobe, we like to call it sustainable bridesmaids dressing.

Working with our trusted manufacturers, we are constantly evolving our collection to include more environmentally friendly fabrics. By considering the materials that we use and what resources go in to creating them we can have a positive impact on the textile industry.  We work with digital patterns, which means we can lay plans digitally and flex these to get the best fabric consumption, leading to less cloth wastage.

Eco-conscious fabrics we currently use in our collection include;

BAMBOO satin, a biodegradable flowing satin made from bamboo - a plant that grows much faster than other crops and requires less water.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ VISCOSE satin, a shimmering, buttery soft satin made from responsibly managed wood pulp. The production of this fabric uses 50% less water and emits at least 50% less CO2 as general viscose fibres.

and RECYCLED POLYESTER satin, a beautiful drapey satin made from recycled polyester and dyed using non-toxic chemicals, giving a second life to a material that’s not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean.

Our Packaging

Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues. Every year 19-23 million tonnes of plastic waste leaks into aquatic ecosystems, polluting lakes, rivers and seas.

As a brand we have been working hard on our packaging. Our boxes and kraft mailers are fully recycled, recyclable and FSC certified, and printed using vegetable inks in the UK. We sell reusable embroidered cotton dust bags to encourage our customers to re-use their packaging.

We think about every SINGLE piece of packaging that comes in and exits the business and are making moves towards being 100% recycled and recyclable.

RE-WEAR

The most responsible clothes are those that last the longest. Our dresses are designed to be worn again and again and styled in a myriad of ways. We particularly recommend hemming to a midi length for re-wear.

Not only that but they are all washable on a cool 30 degree wash - this is much kinder to the planet than dry cleaning or hot washing.

RE-LOVED

We donate stock to various charities such as Women for Women International and Gift of a Wedding, a charity that gifts weddings and vow renewals to those with a terminal or life shortening illness. You can learn more about the charities we work with here - www.giftofawedding.org

We also work with rental platforms My Wardrobe, Something Borrowed and For the Creators where we offer a curated selection of our styles.

And finally, we recycle any damaged or unusable stock, so that it can be given a new lease of life.

WHAT'S NEXT?

We constantly strive to use the best fabrics that we can, that look totally beautiful but are more kind to the environment. We are working towards our packaging being 100% recycled and recyclable by the end of 2024.

By investing in people and technology to streamline our collection as well as made-to-order styles we can reduce overproduction.

We ship via sea where possible, reducing our carbon emissions by up to 47 times compared to that of air freight.

Our design team continue to create pieces for re-wear, with the life cycle of a dress always in mind. We encourage our brides and bridesmaids to alter their dresses to suit more occasions.
