Do brides pick the bridesmaids dresses?

Almost everyone you speak to will know of a time where the bride has chosen the bridesmaids dresses for her girls, and the bridesmaids aren't completely happy or comfortable with her choice.

Bridesmaids dresses are of course a big part of a wedding day, but with so many other aspects to think of, sometimes the bride will find one style and one colour dress she likes, and ask all her girls to wear the same.
Typically, the bride is in charge of choosing the bridesmaids dresses, but we definitely encourage bridesmaids to have their say too on what colours they like and how they feel in a dress as at the end of the day, how the bridesmaids look is a big part of how brides feel on their day.
Brides may choose a certain colour to match the colour scheme of their wedding, and they might choose a style that goes with their theme. For example if the wedding is a boho theme, a floaty dress style might be better suited, or if it's a contemporary chic themed wedding, a strappy slip style or a fitted one shoulder bridesmaids dress might be the style of choice.
As a bridesmaid, we think its absolutely acceptable to have your say and suggest tones on the colour scheme set by the bride. Different shades will suit different skin tones, and we love a tonal fabric mix amongst bridesmaids.
