Where it all began, with our Founders - Fran & Katie

Fran & Katie met each other when working together at jewellery designer Astley Clarke. It's a blooming good job they love each other because they spend 99% of their time together, building Rewritten and putting all their love and care into the brand. Where it all started - Vegas

Vegas... the wedding destination of the world. After spending many weeks in Las Vegas working with their former employer, it was only right that this was the birth place of Rewritten. You may not think its the most luxe place to get married, but boy did it give Fran & Katie some ideas of what to do, and also what not to do when it came to launching Rewritten. 

The Design Process

If you have read our meet the team blog, you will now know that Fran designs all of Rewritten's collections, from start to finish. She makes all the tough decisions on styles, colours and fabrics, keeping on trend but also rewriting the rules, and making sure both our bridal and bridesmaids collections are the best that they can be. Fran has spent hours and days over the past 5 years sketching hundreds of designs, all to make sure we have the most amazing dresses in our collection to offer to all of our awesome brides and bridesmaids.

The Showrooms, and the shows...

Rewritten's first showroom was in North London, and really where the Rewritten retail journey began. It was a space that saw thousands of brides & bridesmaids through it's doors, trying on dresses, knocking back prosecco and generally having a brilliant time.  It was Rewritten's first proper home and endless days and nights packing and shipping dresses were spent there. By Autumn 2019, Rewritten had outgrown Tottenham and we made the move to the quirky cultural London suburb of Hackney Wick. We love it here, and love being in the heart of such an inspiring and busy place, we can share our artistic flares with our neighbours and also recommend the best places for you to go for food and drinks after your appointments, trust us, we've tried out a few! We have also popped up at many shows over the years; Most Curious, Brides The Show, One Fine Day, The Un-Wedding Show, Indie Wedding Fair and The Harrogate Bridal Show to name a few. It's brilliant fun hanging out with all of our wedding industry peers, those cocktails at the end of the day make the hard work that goes into every show very much worth the while. We just love meeting our brides and bridesmaids and talking about our favourite subject - bridesmaids dresses. It also helps that we really do love our DIY!
