Rewritten | The Story behind the brand

Rewritten London was founded in 2016 by friends Katie Arnott and Frances Cookson. We began in bridal-designing dresses for the women standing beside the bride-but we were never only about weddings. From day one, we designed for women, not ceremonies, using bold color and modern silhouettes to create pieces you’ll wear again and again.

Katie and Frances have grown the brand from an idea, doing everything in-house-from design and marketing to finance and operations. As advocates for female-founded businesses, they have retained full control of the Rewritten brand, continuing to make every decision together, big or small.

We started at the aisle. We’re still rewriting it. But we’ve always seen more. Rewritten was born in the bridal world, but we were never only about weddings. We prioritized color, movement, and modernity-not chiffon and conformity. Our bridesmaid dresses stood out because they didn’t look like bridesmaid dresses. They looked like something you’d want to wear again. And again.

Engagement dinners. Birthdays. Prom. Awards. Tuesdays that feel like Fridays. We’re building a wardrobe for women who dress with intent, not instruction.
